Speaking Engagements

Headshot of the author.

Inside the Work

Over the years, my work has taken me into classrooms of every kind, from small rural schools to vibrant international campuses. In every setting, I see the same thing: curiosity, empathy, and cultural awareness are what turn classrooms into communities.

When teachers build authentic relationships, they unlock confidence, connection, and the courage to take on hard problems. I’ve seen this firsthand in research, in classrooms around the world, and in my own family.

Teachers sit at the center of this work, but the same is true for coaches, school and institutional leaders, and executives. From ball fields to boardrooms, when people in these roles build trust and real relationships, they create the conditions for belonging and meaningful growth.

The path from Albany to Zurich, and everywhere in between, reflects where this work takes me: into rooms where storytelling and research come together to make belonging visible and confidence possible. When people feel they matter, they’re far more willing to step into challenge, try again when things don’t work, and build solutions together.

Her content also incorporates evidence on belonging in tech-enabled learning, behavior as communication in early childhood, and community-building in postsecondary settings. Each session translates this evidence into practical, inclusive strategies for educators.
